Final Fantasy's 30th anniversary is coming up next year (just a couple of weeks away until 2017!), and Square Enix has some plans to celebrate!

According to the latest Famitsu magazine, Final Fantasy brand manager Shinji Hashimoto has stated that the first event to commemorate the anniversary is a Final Fantasy XIV-themed Escape room, which will be held in Tokyo, Nagoya, Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Osaka. Specifically, the Escape room will be based on the game's first raid, The Binding Coil of Bahamut. Of course, this is just the first of many events that will be unfolded, but we do know that there is a remaster of Final Fantasy XII due next and (more than likely) Final Fantasy VII.

So, our fingers are crossed for more goodies under the Final Fantasy name in 2017. Though I am a tad sad that the Final Fantasy XIV escape room will not be arriving in the US.
