Final Fantasy 15 is coming to the Nintendo Switch, but not in the way you may have expected. The popular RPG's mobile game is being ported to modern consoles as an HD edition.
Starting now, Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition is available in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This includes the limitations and in-app purchases present in the mobile game. The first chapter is free, with the remaining chapters behind a paywall totaling to $29.99. A Nintendo Switch port will be "coming soon" according to developers Square Enix.
The mobile version of the game features a noticeable number of changes from the original. The most obvious change is the chibi-style simplification of graphics. The Pocket Edition also have a smaller campaign and no open-world access.
This is most likely the only way the game would come to the Switch. The portable console has a hard time handling sharp details (as evidenced with the Doom and Wolfenstein's port), and if a mobile device can handle it, a Switch sure could.
