Earlier today, Naoki Yoshida, otherwise known as Yoshi P, and company presented Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, which served as the focus of Live Letter XXI. Yoshi P, as his famous female Lalafell, unveiled to the world peeks of dark, mystical realm of Ishgard and Coerthas, new abilities, familiar landmarks, and our favorite fat chocobo in flight mode.

Without spoiling much, the expansion is looking to be huge and significantly different, as promised by the developers. Side note, the area of Coerthas in 1.0 will also make a return.

During the Live Letter, dungeons, flying mounts, enemy chocobos, and job abilities were discussed, and since then, three videos have been unveiled: one dedicated to job actions, another to dungeons, and the final to the hauntingly beautiful theme of Heavensward, "Dragonsong," produced by Nobuo Uematsu and featuring Susan Calloway, vocalist for the original Final Fantasy XIV theme "Answers."

In Heavensward, we can look forward to more complex rotations and stances, harder open world battles, and of course, the continuing tale within Eorzea.

After reading the new abilities for the job, being a dragoon has never felt more awesome. Dark Knight isn't looking half bad either.

For those interested, Bayohne has kindly highlighted the important aspects - most being an extended description of the new abilities - in his Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXI Digest Thread.

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will release on June 23rd for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. Those that pre-order will receive early access to the expansion on June 19th.

I don't even know where to begin with this. The aesthetics? The atmosphere? The glorious music?

I can't stop watching this video. Such feels and tears.

Two points to raise for this video: Ninja does not seem to have a lot going for it in comparison to the other jobs, and why is dragoon last in the video? Better be because of the phrase "Saving best for last."
