Ubisoft is working on adding content to Far Cry 4 that will take place outside of the game's main storyline. While the game's campaign will be set in the region of Kyrat, a Ubisoft interview with Red Bull revealed that some of the studios working on Far Cry 4 are working on content that won't take place inside the game's primary setting.
According to Far Cry 4 creative director Alex Hutchinson, while Ubisoft Montreal is taking up the majority of the work on the core game, Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Shanghai are working on "missions set in an all new environment outside of the game world." Whether this means Toronto and Shanghai's work is multiplayer maps, co-op levels or something else entirely wasn't specified, but Hutchinson did make clear that both studio's projects would be shown off in the near future.
Far Cry 4 is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 18th in North America and Europe, while Australians will get it two days later on November 20th.
Recently, Ubisoft came under fire for comments regarding Far Cry 4's inclusion of women in the game, and more notably its comments regarding Assassin's Creed: Unity's lack of female assassins, something the company is looking to fix in the future.
