Theres a somber, contemplative sensation to traveling on your own. With no one else around, the world itself becomes your companion. And here soon, the both of you will set out on another journey. Introducing Far: Changing Tides.
Announced during the PC Gaming Show E3 showcase on Sunday, Far: Changing Tides is an upcoming sequel to the popular atmospheric adventure game Far: Lone Sails. The reveal trailer shows the familiar trash-punk style machinery as it travels along a quiet, natural land.
This time, the large mechanical vehicle is actually in water, compared to the dry docked land boats of the first game. The regular threat of water will be an interesting contrast to the first games arid nature. It also appears to follow a new protagonist. That, or the character got a visual makeover since last time. Either way, it definitely looks like a new experience awaits us.
This will be the second game from Switzerland based indie studio Okomotive (their first being the first Far game). It will also be published under Frontier Foundry, the publishing branch of Frontier Developments, a new for the series.
Far: Changing Tides will release some time later this year for PC and consoles. The game is already listed on Steam for those wanting to wishlist it.
