The BETA will begin on October 23 for the Xbox One, with PlayStation and PC starting on October 30. The studio intends to treat the event like a proper beta and stress test. As such, the game servers will only be live on select days for designated periods of time, ranging from four to eight hours a session.
Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then well fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch.
Access to the BETA is limited to those who pre-ordered the game and registered their BETA key with a bethesda.net account. Those playing on consoles will need an online subscription (Xbox Gold/PlayStation Plus) in order to participate in the BETA. Users are encouraged to provide feedback either through social media or the official Bethesda forums.
The BETA will contain the full game, and progress will be saved for the game's full launch. BETA participants will also be allowed to live stream, post videos, and so on as much as they want, there's no NDA.
More details regarding the BETA can be found on the Bethesda FAQ. Fallout 76 formally launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 14.
