If you ever needed more proof that Kojima's fans are absolutely insane, then look no further than this: a limited-edition run of Death Stranding jackets, which are both inspired by Kojima’s game and incredibly ugly, have almost instantly sold out. In spite of the fact, they cost $1,900. Each.
That’s really the long and the short of it, but there is a little bit of extra context: the jackets in question are Acronym jackets, which means they’re pretty highly desired anyway for reasons that I, as a poor person, don’t quite understand. But if you visit their website you can clearly see a bunch of pretentious words tied together in pretentious but nonsense ways, so I guess this is the perfect collaboration for a guy like Kojima.
It’s also worth noting that the only real difference between this and other Acronym jackets seems to be the fact the ugly front pocket is made uglier by being a delightful shade of piss yellow, in honor of the baby that’d be strapped there in the world of Death Stranding.
But yeah. Long story short, a bunch of people who have way too much money decided to spend that money on this ugly jacket. Woot.
