We all know that the Xbox One X is going to be the most powerful console when it comes out on November 7th. With that title comes a pretty high price tag, which seems pretty reasonable to me. The upgrade from the Xbox One to the One X is honestly large enough to call it a new generation, but I won't go there. Basically, Sony needs to do something if it's going to compete.
We already know that Sony doesn't have any decent exclusives coming out until 2018 at the earliest, so what's going to stop people from buying an Xbox One X? Well, sources have reported that Sony already has a plan to counter the new Microsoft console. Around the time of the Xbox One X release date, we should expect to see a pretty significant price drop for the PS4 and PS4 Pro.
Now, we don't know how large this price drop will be, but you will probably be able to get a PS4 Pro for about $150-$200 less than an Xbox One X. That would be an addition $50-$100 drop from its current price. With that, the PS4 is expected to drop by the same amount, meaning you can basically get any Sony console for dirt cheap. I don't know if this will be enough to fight off the extremely powerful Xbox One X, but Sony has to fight as hard as they can at this point or they're going to lose a lot of sales.
