If you’re a fan of Left 4 Dead, First-Person shooters, or just plain ol’ multiplayer games in general, there’s a better than good chance you’re excited about the release of Evolve, the next big title from 2K games and Turtle Rock.  Unfortunately, it’s not due for an official release until February 10th of next year, but if you find the wait too unbearable there’s good news for ya: near the end of the month, starting October 30th, Evolve will be undergoing a “Big Alpha” test where the game will be downloadable and playable over Xbox One, PS4, and PC for a limited time.

Specifically, for Xbox One, players can download the alpha on October 30th, while PC and PS4 players can get on Occtober 31st.  Both versions go until November 2nd, at which point the alpha ends and you have to go back to waiting, Evolve-less, till next year.

If you’ve pre-ordered the game, or you pre-order it before the event, you’re guaranteed access to the alpha.  For everyone else, it’s more touch-and-go: you have to pay attention to their twitter and website for public alpha codes, and when you have one you can need to plug it into this sign-up page here before it goes invalid.   It’s worth noting that at time of writing, the only codes being released are for Xbox One.  There’s no news on if they’ll make the same offer for PC or PS4 players, but I can’t see why they wouldn’t.

If you're interested, it's definitely worth checking up every few hours to see if a key has been released.  I haven't an idea how many will ultimately be released, but diligence is key!

Good luck, and have fun!
