Every Copy of Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have the Same In-Game Content

No gated-off missions or content.

Some people are really bothered by all the “editions” of games that are coming out these days – your standard edition, the pre-order bonus, the silver edition, the gold edition, the collector’s edition… that kind of thing. And while I certainly think Ubisoft’s “edition charts” are comical in their absurdity, I generally don’t have a problem with it… so long as they’re not gating off any in-game content. Because nothing sucks quite as much as knowing you can’t play a certain mission or get a certain weapon because you just didn’t want to pre-order the game six months before it launched or whatever.

Fortunately, the folks at CD Projekt Red seem to agree with my assessment, because they made it clear over Twitter (and posted on Reddit) that despite having multiple editions of Cyberpunk 2077 available for purchase, none of them will gate off any chunks of actual gameplay.

No, we don’t do that. Every person that buys the game gets exactly the same in-game content, no matter if they buy it in pre-orders, on release date or two years later *winky face*

Forgot your oxford comma, CD Projekt Red, but otherwise, capital stuff.

If that’s the case, what do you get when you get the other editions? Well, if you preorder the game, you get certain bonuses depending on where you shop – anything from a $10 reward card to a digital game booklet, wallpapers and avatars, and a 30 percent discount for Cyberpunk 2077 merch. The collector’s edition, on the other hand, has lots of physical swag: a statue, some books, stickers, a steel case, that sort of thing.

Still not bad deals. Made sweeter when you remember that CD Projekt Red has a history of free DLC and excellent paid expansions. So you have nothing to worry about for extra content regardless of what edition you get.

Good news all around.
