If you aren't, you'd best be strapping on your gloves, because the ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 2 preseason event has kicked off over this weekend in preparation for the upcoming season beginning November 1, 2015. Competitors from Europe, North America, and CIS will duke it out for $1,000 USD per reach each week over a period of eight weeks, and only the best competitors will find themselves in the brackets of the Grand Finals, which will offer some sweet, sweet moolah--$100,000 for a total prize pool, in fact. So look forward to the Grand Finals in early 2016.
This season, expect the all-new Mortal Kombat X game integration, which is actually quite nifty. All players will need to do is to sign up via the ESL App on Xbox Live. The game integration will be available in time for the beginning of ESL MKX Pro League Season 2's regular season.
Sucks that it will only be integrated within Xbox, however.
According to Andreas Hofmann, Software Developer at ESL:
"Integrating Mortal Kombat X into our online infrastructure is one of the many things that we are working on at ESL. It has been a pleasure to work with NetherRealm Studios on making it a reality.
Previously players had to struggle with multiple devices and manually submit their results. Now, ESL's competitive solution seamlessly pairs you with an opponent connected to the Xbox Live servers and will automatically submit the match outcomes to the ESL Play website."
To chime in on the kickoff for Season 2 is Ed Boon, Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios and co-creator of Mortal Kombat.
"ESL MKX Pro League Season 1 showcased a lot of incredible match-ups and the team at NetherRealm Studios is happy to be working with ESL for Season 2. It will be great to see how the competition pans out."
For those interested in finding more about the ESL MKX Pro League, including the schedule, tournament structure, and prize money, you can always head on over to the official Pro League site or follow ESL Mortal Kombat on Facebook and/or Twitter.
