Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has officially and expectedly been delayed until August 23, 2016, Eidos-Montreal announced earlier today. So what's up about it? Well, in a blog post on the game's site, David Anfossi, head of the studio, mentioned how the developers wanted a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and that they want to improve upon that game in "every way possible."
Expectations are especially high (the whole debacle with the pre-ordering probably didn't help), and so the devs understandably want to release a half-assed project:
"However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.
We are sorry to disappoint you with the news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don't want to compromise on its quality."
Honestly, it's great they're delaying the game. Quality is always most important, otherwise trust could be shot to hell among fans. I can be a bit more patient. After all, there are so many other releases to look forward to that it's not even funny...
