Okay, so I originally believed this to be a Sony-exclusive game, just by watching this. In fact, it definitely gives off vibes - in terms of art direction, anyway - of Gravity Rush/Daze. Anyway, this is all about water... and the concept of loneliness. One to look forward to, my friends.
Here's the official description from EA:
"When humans get too lonely, they turn into monsters. That's what happened to Kay. But she's not alone - this ocean is full of creatures just like her. Finding them may be the key to changing her back.
Sea of Solitude is an upcoming third-person exploration game from Jo-Mei Games. Join Kay as she navigates the waters of heartache, empathy, and hope."
I like this, point blank. A game that examines the weaknesses of people - depression, loneliness, and anxiety in particular - in a metaphorical and relatable sense is always welcome at my library. Sea of Solitude will launch for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in early 2019.
