Of course, while the stars of EA's presentation was their big triple-A titles, EA did give a little time in their presentation to show off their renewed dedication to the indie world and smaller, more intimate pieces of gaming art. You know, kind of what Ubisoft is doing, except less well. Called EA Originals, it's a program indie developers can use to get access to some of EA's marketing clout, funding, and support to give their product some much needed visibility and import in the gaming sphere.
The first game to take advantage of this? A curious game called Fe, being made by Swedish developer Zoink.
Another small cute creature exploring a big, beautiful, slightly scary environment. Not exactly bursting with creativity, but hey: it might surprise us. While EA's claimed support for indie titles is certainly... admirable, I guess, right now it's hard to tell exactly how "good" it is, or what kind of deal these indie developers cut to get all those benefits EA outlines. I don't know this for certain, but a good guess is that a contract signed in blood is involved somewhere.
Not that I'm trying to imply anything.
