EA servers were attacked yesterday. A DDOS attack against all of EA's servers had left many games, including the Battlefield 1 beta, unplayable online. This was a confirmed attack and reports suggest it was PoodleCorp who executed the DDOS against EA. Originally, the Battlefield 1 beta was the only game affected, but as time went on more and more games began to fall. The first games that had been fixed were Battlefield Hardline and UFC 2. NHL 16, Madden 16, Fifa 16, Madden 17, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield 4 were down for a bit longer, but ended up coming back eventually. Star Wars Battlefront had connection issues, but was still somewhat playable.
EA servers should be all up and ready to go at this time. People were extremely upset about the outage, but EA did a good job of keeping the community informed and responded to several people on Twitter with updates. I wouldn't be surprised if EA gave the Battlefield 1 beta an extra day of play due to the outage, but this is unconfirmed and only a possibility. Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out with EA servers and the Battlefield 1 beta.
