Electronic Arts' Frank Gibeau has a lot of good things to say about Apple's latest round of devices.

Gibeau already confirmed that EA is already working on prototypes for the recently unveiled Apple Watch, and now he's claiming that the upcoming iPhone 6 rivals the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in terms of performance.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Gibeau explained how the iPhone 6 will help bridge the gap between mobile devices and consoles.

"With the retina display and the improved processor, combined with the Metal [graphics] capabilities and 128GB of memory, that gets you to a device that's on par with next-generation consoles. That's moving perfectly into our strike zone," said Gibeau.

Apple revealed two versions of the iPhone 6, one 4.7-inch phone with a 1334x750 display, and another 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus SKU with a 1920x1080 screen.

The iPhone 6 will be launching next Friday on September 19th.
