In The Sims Spark'd, 12 contestants will be chosen from various online personalities related to the Sims community. They will then face off in a series of design challenges in the video game. The results will be judged by a panel of judges.
The judges consist of Buzzfeed Multiplayer YouTube personality Kelsey Impicciche, singer-songwriter Tayla Parx, and Maxis developer Dave Miotke. The show itself will be hosted by Rayvon Owen, a former American Idol finalist.
The show will debut on TBSs eSports channel, Turner Sports ELeague, on July 17. It will feature four episodes, airing every Friday at 11 PM.
The Sims general manager Lyndsay Pearson had this to say in a quote reported by GI.biz:
"Since its inception, The Sims has been a groundbreaking experience, allowing players to create and virtually live out the stories they create in-game. That's also why this show is so exciting. We're continuing that innovative spirit, bringing our community together to compete and showcase their in-game storytelling on a reality show in an entirely new way."
Its important to note that this does not appear to be related to the previously reported Sims-based sitcom. No further information on that has come to light at this time.
