In most jobs, you'll get in trouble for sexually harassing a co-worker. Even if it wasn't intended. Electronic Arts appear to be no exception as the EA Ireland director of global delivery was laid off for talking about his dong.

The information was initially reported by the Irish Independent and James Batchelor. Philippe Grenet used to work for the EA Ireland office. He was removed from his position after saying that he was not "going to pull my dick out and put it on the table... to see who has the bigger dick" to a female coworker. The conversation was during a one-on-one video conversation with an unnamed employee out of the EA Austin Texas office, who reported the instance afterward.

Grenet spoke about the instance later, explaining that the phrase was intended to be a colloquialism meaning that he did not wish to challenge the person they were discussing. He states that English is not his first language, and that his words have been twisted out of context. He further defends his case by emphasizing the lack of a proper investigation and fair procedure before his dismissal. He believes that the reportee held a malice against him since he was given a job position that they wanted.

Notice the lack of an apology?

EA made a statement, saying that Grenet admitted to saying the phrase and that the company was within their rights to terminate his employment.

Grenet's previous role will remain unfilled until the situation is settled.

Regardless of intention or audience, it's better if you don't talk about your penis in a professional setting. Especially when alone with a female coworker.
