Expanding from that story, it was just announced via Twitter today that EA would donate $1 million to the victim’s grieving families and establish a community fund so others can donate money as well.
“The events last weekend in Jacksonville will impact the gaming community forever. We can’t begin to understand the pain so many are going through, nor do we pretend we have the answers that will help us through the healing process. But as is so often the case, our community inspires us. The way you are coming together, and the outpouring of support for all those affected by this tragedy, is incredibly uplifting. We want to join you.”
They also announced that next Tuesday, September 6, they will host a Jacksonville Tribute Livestream. While we don’t know exactly what the livestream will entail, EA has promised to reveal more information very soon.
