Nintendo's E3 press conference opened the day today, and it does not disappoint. With Star Fox, Mario, and plenty of 3DS and Wii U games, fans of Nintendo will have plenty to save up for this year. Without further ado, here's the roundup:
First of all, the presentation begins all Muppet Style, and it's so darn cute!
Star Fox Zero is happening. You can read more about it here.
Keep in mind that it is the 30th anniversary of Mario. He's transformed platforming over the years, so in celebration, Super Mario Maker, drawing upon the imagination and sadism of players everywhere, will be released September 11.
Amiibo time! Activision and Nintendo have teamed up to mash Amiibos and Skylanders together. Two figures, the turbo-charged Donkey Kong and the Hammer Slam Bowser initiate this line-up. The best part is that you can use them as both an amiibo and a Skylander with a simple switch on the bottom of the figures.
The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes is arriving, which appears to be somewhat of a spiritual successor! We just so happen to have a special article for it!
And of course, we have the once-accidentally leaked Hyrule Warriors Legends arriving for the 3DS, including characters from Windwaker. Hyrule Warriors Legends is due for release sometime in 2016.
Metroid Prime Federation Force has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS, and it's not quite what we expected. You team up with three other friends in order to conquer missions. The game includes Blast Ball, a mini 3v3 game mode. MPFF is set for release sometime in 2016.
And we have Fire Emblem Fates. It appears so beautiful, dramatic, and visually more appealing Fire Emblem: Awakening, which already appeared amazing. Earlier this year, it has been announced that the game will have two different story paths. Hopefully, there will be more information this week.
Remember that Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei crossover? Well, now it's called Fire Emblem Shin Megami Tensei, which is no less a mouthful than the first title. This Wii U exclusive title will debut next year in North America. Watching the trailer, however, you can't help but wonder what in the world is happening. A dance off with battling and pop beats...?
And then we have...
Xenoblade Chronicles X, releasing December 4. You can catch the trailer right here.
Animal Crossing Interior Detainment Center--oh wait--Happy Home Designer has been unveiled, and it looks adorable. It's like creating a virtual dollhouse and only a dollhouse. Look forward to it September 25, 2015. In addition, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival has been announced, featuring a board game with Animal Crossing amiibos! Land on a square and see what happens! I have no idea what happens, truth be told, but it seems you interact and live life based on where you land. You can draw cards at least. This will be released for the Wii U in 2016.
Next you have Yoshi's Wooly World. Nintendo Direct delved into Emi Watanabe's desire to contribute more to Yoshi's Wooly World, so she made a tiny yarn Yoshis, which was widely accepted by the team and thus, leading to the creation of yarn Yoshi amiibos.
The release of Yo-kai Watch's gameplay has happened. In Yo-kai Watch, you're on the search for Yo-kai (supernatural creatures/ghosts). In this title, you search for Yo-kai and stuff them in your watch, only to unleash them later to defeat enemies. As an added bonus, you can charge them up with your watch. Saving Springdale will have to wait until Holiday 2015.
Mario and Luigi Paper Jam has been announced for Spring 2016, which combines paper and 3D. Mini games, such as squash, will be at your disposal. But it seems creepy to see their 3D selves facing their paper selves.
And finally, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash will arrive Holiday 2015 on the Wii U.
We have seen a few fan favorites here, and it's a great thing many titles are arriving so soon. I personally can't wait for Xenoblade Chronicles X. What is your favorite highlight of E3's Nintendo Direct?
Here's the entire conference, gameplay and all:
