I ain’t complaining.
From the creators of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey comes a storybook adventure about a forgotten hero on a quest to save the Greek gods. Prove your heroism by fighting dangerous mythological creatures and taking on their fearsome leader in a face-off for the ages. Explore a beautiful fantasy world where tricky trials, treacherous dungeons, and heroic feats await. The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the final destination, and you will emerge as the hero you are meant to become.
The game is an action-adventure sandbox (duh) set in the Isle of the Blessed, where you’ll customize a character who can use a bow, sword, float, and use telekinesis to solve puzzles and fight monsters. The resemblance to Zelda is fairly obvious, but Jonathan Dumont, the Creative Director for the game, says the comparison, while flattering, isn’t terribly accurate.
“It’s flattering that we can be compared to [Breath of the Wild], but from a storytelling point of view it’s going to be a very unique adventure. The abilities will change, as well as the scope of how it blows up. It is influenced a lot more by Odyssey in that sense mechanically. The fact that we can choose and create our own character and customize it as well, there’s quite a bit that will make it its own.”
I wonder just how true that is? I guess we’ll find out on February 25th of next year, when the game is launched.
