The Elder Scrolls Online just got a brand-new update a week ago, so I was personally kind of expecting whatever presence the game had at this year’s show to be small: turns out I was wrong, because apparently Zenimax Online Studios isn’t content – or simply willing – to let you soak in desert with the Kajiit for a while. They’ve already announced not one, but two more DLC expansions for their Elder Scrolls MMO, and they’re apparently making fans very excited.

The Season of the Dragon continues with The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr and beyond. Dragons have emerged from the Halls of Colossus, and they now threaten to burn down all of Tamriel. Wielding powerful new weapons and abilities, unlikely allies must band together in order to defeat these legendary monsters.

The first one, which is set to come out in Q3, is called Scalebreaker, which is a fantastic name if you don’t mind my saying. This DLC package will apparently focused on introducing two brand new group-style dungeons. In fact, Bethesda said this package will focus fairly heavily on dungeons, and will give prospective spelunkers lots to do and explore with their friends. The two new dungeons being introduced are Moongrave Fane and Lair of Maarselok, which will apparently tie into the ongoing story pretty directly.

The second DLC pack, which will release at the end of 2019, is called Dragonhold. We don’t know a whole bunch about it yet, except Southern Elsweyr will be introduced as a whole new zone and it will re-introduce Sai Sahan as an NPC. I’m sure that means a lot more to the people who’ve actually played the game.

Frankly, when I heard about The Elder Scrolls Online, I wasn’t convinced it would be terribly successful. But I’m glad to be proven wrong: these new expansions look like a lot of fun, and I hope fans enjoy them when they’re released in the coming months.
