If you’re anything like me, you probably forgot State of Decay 2 was even a thing. And yet, here it is, brought back from the dead (hurr hurr hurr) for E3 to announce that not only is there a new expansion out for the game: but it’s also out right now.

Return to Trumbull Valley in Heartland, State of Decay 2's new story-based campaign. Play it today - included with Xbox Game Pass.

Called State of Decay 2: Heartland, the game adds two new stories to the game, which will probably intersect at some point as two people hunt for someone (could be the same person, maybe two different people) in a place called Trumbull Valley. There, they’ll meet new allies, and fight deadly new monsters, in a quest to not just survive, but possibly even thrive.

There’s not much else to it: if you have the Xbox Game pass you can give it a play now. Might as well, right?
