What if you made a robot whose sole purpose is to want the love of humans. It's easy to not consider just how horribly it can go wrong. Now you can live that horror in VR. ABE, the psychological horror film from 2013 is getting a VR game, again.
ABE is the story of the titular robot. All he wants is to love and be loved. But when he is rejected, he gets confused. And much like humans, he behaves oddly when confused. Now ABE is getting now only a new short film, but a new VR game with it.
Interestingly, developers Hammerhead already did this once. They released a short free VR experience back in 2016. It was criticized at the time for being an underwhelming experience. Hammerhead has confirmed that this is a continuation of that, so hopefully, it'll be more well-received. The new trailer certainly looks exciting.
ABE VR will be "coming soon."
