Battlefield 5 is the most recent take in the classic first-person shooter franchise. It's only fair that the game gets some special attention during E3 2019 at the EA Play event.

The dedicated Battlefield 5 panel began with the reveal of a few new maps, all part of Chapter 4 of the game.

It begins with Marita. This greek mountainside map is split between the steep cliff roads and the rural villages between them. Very infantry focused, it will see a lot of close quarters fights between foot soldiers. It will release in July as part of Chapter 4.

After that, they revealed Al Sundan. Taking in an opposite style of the last map, this African desert is large, open, and full of vehicular combat. Based on the map from the single player story, this map has been redesigned with multiplayer in mind. Players will rely on tanks, trucks, transports, and planes to turn the tide of combat. This map will be released on June 27, the launch date for Chapter 4.

Next up, they revealed yet another map. They didn't give much detail about it, just some scenery shots. Releasing late in Chapter 4 (August), it appears to be an Italian fishing village.

They took a small break from map talk to announce a small change for the dedicated multiplayer users. They will be raising the max rank from 50 to 500.

The final map they talked about was Operation Underground. Taking place in an underground subway, this brings more close quarters combat that the developers say the players were asking for.

To conclude the segment, they revealed the first details of Battlefield 5 Chapter 5.

This time, they're taking the game to the Pacific. With rich waters and open seas, they'll be focusing on the war between Japan and America during WWII. The only confirmed map is the historic Iwojima.

If you're a regular BF5 player, this ensures what sounds like a good several months of regular updates to keep things fresh.
