Due to FPS Lock, PC Need for Speed Reboot is Delayed Until Spring 2016

Unfortunate, but better than having a lock.

Despite one of my earlier articles appearing to have suggested otherwise, FPS (frames per second) is an important factor for many modern titles, especially on PC. 30 FPS, as some have claimed, are good for cinematic, story-driven experiences, but 60 FPS are fantastic for shooters, racers, and other faster-paced genres. So it's no surprise that EA has made a recently huge decision that Warner Bros. should have followed: delay the PC release of Need for Speed. Today, Ghost Games has announced on their blog that the PC release of Need for Speed will be delayed until Spring 2016 for good reason. To Ghost Games, having an unlocked framerate in Need for Speed is a massive priority to keep fans happy, but in order to deliver the possibility, they will need to delay the release. Those that can't wait until Spring and own either a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can continue to look forward to the worldwide release date of November 3, 2015.

According to the team:

"This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one."

It's awesome that EA and Ghost Games are avoiding the curse of a poor release in favor of providing the best experience possible. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it.

Suddenly, it makes sense as to why there won't be a PC release of the closed beta.
