We've all played survival horror. Most games in the genre include zombies, puzzle solving, and bad voice acting. There's no shortage for these kinds of games. In fact, that entire genre has gotten extremely stale at times. And strangely, no companies have really tried to break that tired mold. I must not be the only one looking for something new, though. Developer Soul Challenger has recently released some high-octane footage of an upcoming game.

Check out the video below.

It's a nail biter for sure.

Talk about a breath of fresh air! The footage, dubbed either TRG or Driving Survival (I can't tell which), shows off a pulse-pounding car chase. Unlike your typical GTA cop pursuit, though, Driving Survival uses the environment and AI to give a creepy and atmospheric take to it. Think the film Joy Ride, except actually engaging and scary. The concept puts players behind the wheel of a car while faceless pursuers attempt to take you out. As of right now, the environment is confined to open, country roads. There's just something about the dark isolation that helps set the mood for what's sure to be a frightening game for the ages.

Keep your eyes on this one. You can keep up with the latest progress on Driving Survival here.
