Dragon Quest Builders, the Square Enix Version of Minecraft, is coming to North America after all. The release, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, is actually part of the 30th anniversary of Dragon Quest. Players will use creativity to their fullest in order to gather and combine a variety of unique tools and materials in order to rebuild Alefgard, which was destroyed by the Dragonlord.
Expect sandbox gameplay combined with an an immersive story. Players will also be able to interact with both iconic characters and monsters (expect lots of slimes). Citizens will make home-building requests for you, so it will be up to you to create, with your imagination, a suitable home.
I know of people who praised Dragon Quest Builders for its different approach, so hopefully North Americans will fall in love with the title. Dragon Quest Builders will release in October 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and digitally only on the PlayStation Vita.
Additionally, to continue the celebration of the 30th anniversary, Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below will be offered at a discount on Steam and the PlayStation Store until May 31st. PlayStation Plus members will receive an additional discount.
