Dragon Quest Builders Ships Over a Million Copies Worldwide

We can thank Minecraft for that.

Dragon Quest Builders has been rocking the charts. To date, the Minecraft-like title has shipped 1.1 million copies worldwide since its release of February in Japan and October 13 in North America.

But what can we thank for that?

I would say Minecraft. After all, it was quite successful. And needless to say, Dragon Quest is an extremely popular franchise in Japan, seeing growing success in the West.

As a form of celebration, all day one DLC will be available for free. But there is a bit of unfortunate news alongside this lovely announcement... the free DLC will only be in Japan.

But I'm just happy that the game has exceeded Square Enix's expectations. Dragon Quest Builders is available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
