It's hard to tell right now. Bioware has seemed to enter a tricky spot now that EA isn't interested in Mass Effect anymore. We assume they're still working on Dragon Age, but since that's always been in the same vein as Mass Effect, and they've already announced a super "modern" game in Anthem, which looks like it has EA's fingerprints all over it, it's uncertain just how hard they're working on it.
Well, in a podcast of all things, Dragon Age creative director Mike Laidlaw assured us that Dragon Age was in no means a production limbo: they, in fact, are hiring a lot more people onto the Dragon Age team, and promised that "big things" are happening.
"There are other things in process but unfortunately I can't talk about them until they are realized. I am pretty excited about a few of them. Things continue apace. As I've jokingly said, I am the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise and they haven't fired me yet."
So while that's certainly vague, and far-removed from any real announcement, at least Dragon Age fans know they're hard at work on the next game, and that it's going to be... interesting, at the very least.
But you know what else was interesting? Andromeda.
So let's be cautiously optimistic, alright?
