Dota 2 is Becoming More Rookie Friendly

Noob friendly MOBA? Hmm.

Whenever you're new to a MOBA, odds are you won't be very good. Even if you know the mechanics, switching games can be quite difficult. For example, I play League of Legends constantly and would say that I'm quite good at it. In my attempts to play Dota 2, I do understand the controls, but there is so much more that goes into it. From learning champion abilities to understanding the items in the game, there's a huge shift from one game to another.

Well, Dota 2 is becoming a much safer space for noobies with their new update. This update is going to restrict heroes for your first 25 games. In these games, you will only be able to select from 20 different heroes, each with a fairly simple build that will teach players the basics of the game. These have all been hand-selected and will prove to be vital in your quest to become a Dota 2 master.

In addition to the hero restrictions, new players will be matched with players who have consistently high behavior scores. There's nothing worse than hopping into a team game and getting absolutely roasted by your teammates because you screw up. In MOBAs specifically, this is a huge issue. By matching you with well-behaved individuals, there's a good chance you won't get flamed as hard.

Keep in mind, you might still get some hate, but this system will try to eliminate as much as possible. Before jumping into any MOBA, I would suggest doing a ton of research. Make sure you know what people can do and what the right build path is for the character of your choice.
