And it's impressive.

VR is still brand new. That means it's going to keep growing at each step. It didn't surprise any of us when Doom showed off a newer VR build than it did at E3. Attendees who braved the unforgiving line were in for a treat. The new experience is more intuitive and fluid than what we've seen before.

It was already impressive.

Movement is the key feature here. Discussion around the booth was centered on teleportation. In the past, such movement in VR was disorienting on a good day. A complete change in perspective and environment broke the flow of the game. Now, this Doom build allowed players to gently shift through the teleportation. The perspective shifts over in the direction of the teleportation, as if the player is an ethereal ghost. This way, nobody loses their bearings. And more importantly, nobody loses track of who they were shooting at just a second before.
