Looks like we have more Doom news for you. It's coming out soon, so you understand how it is. Well, today, the news is regarding to the resolution and framerate of Doom. Fans will be pleased to know that the first-person shooter will be played at 1080p and 60FPS on all platforms, according to id Software.

According to lead project programmer Billy Khan on the Bethesda blog:

"We want players to wonder how DOOM and idTech 6 games can be so visually stunning at 60 frames-per-second at 1080p on all platforms, when other titles cannot even achieve a similar look at 30 frames-per-second."

This is possible thanks to the new engine idTech 6.

"idTech 6 allows the artists and designers to quickly decorate the world with fine details. idTech 6's physically based rednerer and dynamic lighting system allows our artists to make our characters and environments more realistic and stunning than ever before."

The blog goes on to talk about the possibility and flexibility of SnapMap mode, including the ability to create a Deathmatch mode. Also expect new multiplayer modes, new multiplayer weapons such as the Static Cannon and the Vortex Rifle.

Sounds like this may be an exciting venture for players in May. The gorified Doom will release May 13, 2016 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Also, if you're worried about having a resolution or FPS cap on the PC, I doubt that'd happen.
