DOOM Reboot Will Lack True Co-op Campaigns

Sorry, friends :(

Some bad news for those that were looking forward to any potential co-op campaign in the upcoming reboot of DOOM:

There won't be any co-op support for the campaign. Whatsoever. Nyet.

However, there is co-op, but in the very limited form of SnapMap, the map modding utility.

The good news is that SnapMap can be used to create custom single-player experiences... sort of. Marty Stratton, Executive Producer of DOOM confirmed with PC Gamer:

"In a sense. You create a level experience, and then to create a campaign-type thing you would link those [levels] together in, like, a playlist."

"You wouldn't necessarily carry weapons from one level to the next. The author could set it up knowing you have this set of weapons as you go into this next component. It's a little bit more like a playlist."

Ah well, close enough. But the experience could change before the release date. So let's hope for a true, custom campaign experience for co-op.
