Don't Hold Your Breath for an Elder Scrolls 6 Anytime Soon

Not gonna happen.

Bethesda recently--or, rather, recent-ish--released their latest and greatest title, Fallout 4, and has since been making a steady stream of DLC content to turn it into the biggest freaking waste of money and time on this side of the internet. Fallout 4 is massive, it's popular, and it's only getting bigger and more popular... and yet, there are still people who pine for something else Bethesda has to offer. Indeed, for all the love Fallout 4 has amassed, it's still not The Elder Scrolls 6. People still play Skyrim, people still (presumably) play The Elder Scrolls Online, but there are a lot of people who want to see the power and freedom of Fallout 4 in a more vibrant setting than a nuclear wasteland.

Unfortunately for those hopefuls, Bethesda's Pete Hines has some bad news for you over Twitter: "We aren't working on TES6 at the moment."

Now, given that developing a game normally can take years, and a prospective Elder Scrolls 6 game will take even longer than that (it took Bethesda about 4 years to make Skyrim, and roughly seven to make Fallout 4), it's going to be a very, very, very long wait before we even get a clue as to a prospective Elder Scroll 6 game will be. Which is sad, for sure, but also kind of inevitable. Bethesda simply has other things to work on, and, really, with how popular Skyrim is, as long as you have the PC version, the upcoming enhanced edition, and a willingness to download mods. Skyrim is going to stay relevant for a very, very long time. And hopefully, that'll be enough to last you the duration.

Or you can just play freakin' Overwatch like everyone else.
