Do Androids Play Detroit: Become Human?

Do Androids Play Detroit: Become Human?

An interesting concept...

Easily the most mysterious announcement of Sony's press conference was Quantic Dreams Detroit: Become Human. Following past titles such as Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, last year we were introduced to the dystopian sci-fi future Detroit through the synthetic feelings of Kara, a 'newborn' android.

This year, we meet yet another android, negotiator Conor, and a tiny hint at what gameplay might look at as we see various endings to Conor's confrontation with another android that has taken a girl hostage. Keeping at what they do best, expect Quantic Dream to give us a game rooted in story driving decisions as opposed to high-skill action and combat.

The small amount of info available to us doesn't allow too much for speculation, but there are obvious hints at animosity between the androids and humans as well as an internal android struggle with being 'alive'. If you're like me and are looking for a good reason not to re-read another Philip K. Dick novel, Detroit: Become Human could be the scratch for your sci-fi philosophy itch.
