Sound the trumpets, for Divinity: Original Sin 2 is now live on Kickstarter! The follow up to the highly successful RPG, Divinity: Original Sin 2 brings back everything you know and love... except it's taking multiplayer gameplay to a new level. Though the original title offered a four player mod, the addition of four player co-op will be au natural to Original Sin 2.

Okay, so there won't be exactly just cooperative questing. Competitive questing will also be available which can be enabled with a seamless flick of a switch throughout the entire story. This time around, you can either work with your friends as a single force to be reckoned with, or suddenly turn on your allies and become the ultimate prick. The ball's in your court, friend.

With Divinity: Original Sin 2, Larian Studios will strive to alter our mindsets on the concept of narrative in an RPG by creating a world where your history and actions shape the entire story. NPCs will also react differently to each character. So remember, if you pick the prick route--Traitor or Swindler--you should probably be aware of everyone, not just your "allies."

A variety of factors will shape NPC behaviors and attitudes: classless character development, your race, birthplace, and greatest feats will all play a role. All of the freedom sounds tempting, no? Want to dive on in?

Well, during this Kickstarter, backers will have the opportunity to claim Kickstarter-only rewards like multiplayer packs, a unique Kickstarter Collector's Edition, custom artwork, and even a "surprise pack that includes handpicked trinkets, mementos, and other little things that inspired the team as they were developing the game."

Additionally, for those wanting in the Alpha and Beta will have access if they back the campaign with at least $25.

Of course, if you'd like to learn more about the game, including the story, new crafting system, and enhanced combat, you may do so at the actual Kickstarter page. As of the time of this writing, there are 7,905 backers who have pledged $339,722 with 34 days to go.

Yeaaaaah, I'm sure it will meet its funding goal in time.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be at PAX Prime with the opportunity to go hands-on with new PvP features. Larian Studios will be waiting for you at Booth #6011.
