Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Is Finally Coming to the West

Ah, it's finally here. Arcades in Japan have been hosting Dissidia Final Fantasy 3 for quite some time. Well, we're finally seeing the game in the west.

Square Enix has announced Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for the PlayStation 4 in early 2018.

The three-on-three fighting title is the third entry in the Dissidia Final Fantasy series, which were born on the PlayStatin Portable back in 2008.

Also, fun fact: Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is developed by Square Enix in partnership with - wait for it - Team Ninja. Yes, the same Team Ninja behind Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, and Nioh.

So how does Dissidia Final Fantasy NT work? Well, players pick three characters from a wide roster of Final Fantasy protagonists and antagonists. According to the press release:

"Offering strategic online and offline play, players can select from over 20 legendary characters and familiar summons, including Ifrit, Shiva and Odin, to bring into 3 vs. 3 battle. The game also brings back the Dissidia series' unique 'bravery combat system,' alongside unparalleled visuals and seamless gameplay."

Want to know more about the game? Well, producer Ichiro Hazama, director Takeo Kujiraoka, and professional fighting gamers Justin Wong and K-Brad will appear at the E3 Coliseum. When? June 13, at 3:15 PDT.
