The folks at Mojang have partnered with one of the largest film companies in the world. The result of that partnership is Minecraft Jurassic World, a new DLC pack for Bedrock edition.
Announced on Tuesday, Jurassic World is a new DLC add-on to Minecraft Bedrock Edition that implements many of the creative ideas behind the popular movie franchise.
The player takes up the role of Park Manager in a new dinosaur-filed safari park. Craft and train your own dinos, go on expeditions to find new DNA and travel in various vehicles throughout the park. The announcement article lists 21 new skins, with over 60 dinosaurs, if you include the hybrids you can create.
This is an interesting step beyond what they usually offer. The Minecraft Marketplace, a microtransaction store available in Minecraft Bedrock, usually provides texture/sound packs, player skins, professionally made worlds, and survival challenges. This particular expansion adds in a new layer of content (dinosaurs, crossbreeding, vehicles). While it's a shame that it's not part of the base game, it's reasonably priced at least.
The pack is available now on the Minecraft Marketplace for the cash equivalent of $7.99.
