Dimensional Rifts are Tearing Up Fortnite

This is what we get for playing with rockets.

Not long after the successful launch of a rocket in Fortnite, we are seeing some strange happenings in the world. This time, it's dimensional rifts.

After the rocket, a large hard-to-miss crack had formed in the sky. But over at the Lonely Lodge, a strange crack in space-time had formed. Over time, the crack has expanded to the point of literally consuming the Lonely Lodge's sign. The idea of these rifts consuming the world was confirmed further when a new rift appeared at the Motel, taking a considerable chunk of the MOTEL sign's place.

It's unclear what will actually come of this. But based on the past events, we can at least guess when. Season 5 of Fortnite starts on July 12. Just like the meteor of last season, I think we can estimate that whatever big thing happens, will happen around that time.

One thing we've noticed is how quickly this is changing. This may mean that Epic has started doing daily map updates, instead of the weekly ones from last season. If so, this means events like this will be far more dynamic. A weekend out of town might be enough to miss major changes.

Stay tuned as the situation develops.
