We have a new combatant joining the Heroes of the Storm roster: Deckard Cain. The elderly scholar originated in Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo series, and now he's taking part of their popular mash-up MOBA.

Cain is classified as a melee support character, and his abilities "support" the title. He can throw out healing potions for teammates. When near an ally, Cain gains 10 armor and his basic abilities recharge 50 percent faster.

His attacks consist of the Horadiric Cube and the Scroll of Sealing. The first is a throwable cube that deals 80 damage to all enemies in the area of effect, while also slowing them by 40 percent for 1.75 seconds. The second ability is essentially a stronger variation of the first, drawing a large triangle on the ground that deals 150 damage to enemies inside of it and immobilizes them for 1.5 seconds.

Cain's Ult is called Stay Awhile and Listen, in which Deckard puts enemies to sleep by telling them a story. Anyone caught in the cone-shaped zone of his speech will be put to sleep for two seconds. He also has Lorenado, which releases a book tornado of sorts that knocks away enemies that touch it.

For a more visual representation of Deckard Cain and his abilities, you can watch Blizzard's hero introduction for him below. The company says that he will be available on the Heroes of the Storms public test region "soon."
