The rituals are nearly complete, the sacrifices all but given. Very soon, we shall be able to reap the rewards of our patience. Diablo 2: Resurrected has an official release date. And its not very far.

This news was announced during the Xbox Bethesda E3 showcase, where a new trailer showing off the remaster gave an official release date.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will release on PC and consoles on September 23, 2021. There will also be a multiplayer beta test in August for certain platforms.

During this beta, players can try out five of the seven player classes that will be available: Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid. The remaining two classes, Assassin and Necromancer, will only be available when the game formally releases.

This has been a fast degree of progress, having only learned about the game earlier this year during BlizzCon. Being in an age where long term marketing is so common, it's a little surprising to see a game go from reveal to release in under a year.
