Devolver Digital was supposedly forced to cancel their public Indie Picnic at E3, which ultimately ended in them losing around $100,000. On top of that, they claim that they were not wanted, and even bullied out of the convention. Devolver co-founder Mike Wilson had some pretty strong words to say to Polygon about the matter.
"E3 does not like us being here. We've always had a long-standing love-hate relationship. But not in a f***-with-us kinda way, until this year. They just started making trouble for us with the City, saying, How dare you rent this space out to these renegades, blah, blah, blah.'"
"Obviously, they have a lot of sway with the city. Phone calls were made and threats. We were being bullied."
ESA obviously denied all allegations towards them and claimed that Devolver made these accusations as a publicity stunt. What's your take on this controversy?
