After Deus Ex: Mankind Divided introduced the loathed ‘tiered pre-order’ system that caused so much hate and controversy in the community, it’s kind of easy to forget that it’s still an actual game and Square Enix is still trying to raise hype about it. After all, after a failed pre-order event steals the spotlight, it’s only natural a company would want to both forget about the event and remind people ‘hey, there’s still a product here’.

Well, following the end of the ‘Augment your Pre-Order’ deal and with February 23rd release date inching closer, Square Enix has released a trailer, focusing on Adam Jensen 2.0 this time--because if there’s one thing people liked about the first game, it was the genetic, grizzled protagonist on a standard ‘rescue a kidnapped lover’ mission. Good on em’ to home in on what the people want.

The trailer is alright. But then, why am I judging when that’s your job? Check it out:

Adam Jensen is the next step in human evolution. In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, he is now an experienced covert operative, forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.

More worldwide conspiracies? Oh, those silly Illuminati and their games. Regardless, I don’t think this looks quite as cool as the E3 trailer, but still, it shows us the game and a little bit about Adam’s non-personality, so it wasn’t a waste or anything.

Of the three minutes it takes to watch, I mean.
