Destiny Characters Wont Carry Over to Destiny 2

Before you freak out about losing all your hard earned gear, levels, and experience, you need not fret because Bungie will be allowing players to carry over their characters personalization! That's right, the only thing you'll be able to carry over to Destiny 2 will be the facial features that you took five minutes to choose, and then hid behind a helmet for the entirety of the game.  Hardcore Destiny fans are pretty upset about this decision by Bungie and rightfully so.  

Though it's always hard to say goodbye to your character, I think we can agree it's pretty much essential for the launch of the new game.  They need to introduce brand new content, mechanics and also give new players a fair experience at launch.  We can all agree that the initial customization in Destiny is probably the worst out of any pseudo online RPG.  If for whatever reason your concerned with keeping your characters personalization, then you can, as long as you've completed the Black Garden Mission and reached at least level 20.

Bungie has confirmed that "power and possessions" will not carry over to Destiny 2, explaining that it will ensure they can make the best gameplay experience possible, improving on the game unhindered by the past.  After all, we can't move forward if we're constantly looking back.  I think it's unfair for people to think that they should be able to transfer everything they've earned in this game to the next game.  

It's a new game.  That means a fresh start.  We need to let Bungie move past the original Destiny, and make the next game even better.  Look at it as a chance to start something new.  I'm confident that if you still play Destiny, then you have plenty of time on your hands to grind a new character in Destiny 2.
