Destiny 2 is on its way, and Bungee, the people who have nothing to do with Halo anymore, are celebrating nearly three years of online space fun with the Age of Triumph. Starting March 28th, they’re going to celebrate everything that made Destiny so special (so, presumably, it’s going to be awkwardly bad for the first few months). Old raids will be updated for higher light levels, and a huge 13-page record book will be made available for users. As you complete accomplishments and feats within said book, you’ll climb up the ranks and earn sweet rewards, most of which will probably be useless when Destiny 2 is released.
That said, if you do reach rank 7, the final rank, you’ll get a customized t-shirt with your username on it. That’s pretty cool, but you’ll have to pay for it. Which is significantly less cool.
They’re also adding weekly featured raids, which will add new challenges and prizes to the most famous raids in the game: Vault of Glass, Crota’s End, King’s Fall, and Wrath of the Machine.
It’s also worth note that while Bungee won’t be supplying Destiny with any more new content following this release, they’ll still keep it online for the foreseeable future. Which is cool if you want to catch up and you’re super late to the party, but for most of us I figure we’d just as soon wait for Destiny 2, whenever that comes out.
