Destiny 2's first holiday event, The Dawning, began today. It is a celebration of players, and as such, no purchase is required to enjoy this festive loot feast. The new additions include decorations and scenery changes in the social spaces, the return of the 'Mayhem' multiplayer mode in the Crucible, and the devastating snowball comes into play and can be thrown at others during Strikes. Each week, there will be special rewards for completing challenges, including the new 'Dawning' gear.
If you aren't feeling the challenges and are choosing not to participate in this festive affair, then bah humbug - you can always purchase these lovely new items from the Eververse Trading company as microtransactions. The event is set to end January 9, so as of now, you'll have plenty of time to get your presents and give some as well.
