With a new console generation finally here, it only makes sense to bring Hideo Kojimas latest creation to the future. But it's more than just a port. Introducing the Death Stranding: Directors Cut for PlayStation 5.
This edition was revealed during the Summer Games Fest showcase on Thursday. While the trailer shown features the world and characters of Death Stranding, it bore a striking resemblance to Metal Gear Solid, another of Kojimas works. It goes as far to put protagonist Sam Bridges in a large cardboard box.
At this time, its not terribly clear what will be different in the Directors Cut of the game. Kojima Productions promises an enhanced and expanded version of the game. The obvious bit of info is that it will be coming to the PlayStation 5. We know about various technical improvements, such as 60 frames per second support. Beyond that, we arent sure.
If the trailer is to be believed, we can expect some degree of Metal Gear Solid crossover. This lines up with previous actions, like when the game released Half-Life related content when releasing on Steam PC. The capacity of the collaboration could vary, though. Maybe there will be more boots?
More information about Death Stranding: Directors Cut will be revealed relatively soon, stay tuned.
