It's been a while since we've seen the likes of the most badass, zombie slaying, cigarette smoking patriot from one of the most Iconic zombie games ever made, and now, he's come back from the grave and is available to play, but not in the way you might imagine. The legendary William Bill Overbeck from Left 4 Dead is now available to play in Behaviour Interactive's asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight. In The Left Behind update for Dead by Daylight, William Bill Overbeck is now a playable survivor, along with four other custom outfits themed from the original characters of Left 4 Dead.
Never played Dead by Daylight? Well, it's an asymmetrical horror game that pits one player controlled psycho killer, against four survivors. The survivors have barely any defenses other than stealth and their own two legs. Survivors must sneak around the map, repairing and starting up generators to power up the exits, all the while being hunted and chased down by a bloodthirsty murderer. The beauty of the game is that you can either team up with your friends to survive or kill your friends, whatever suits your fancy. It's essentially a take on the cat and mouse/hide and seek game that we loved to play as kids, instead if you're found you're most likely dead. The stakes are a little higher is all, but still the same fun you remember as a kid. Maybe just a tad more stressful.
The Left Behind update introduces Bill Overbeck. Bill survived through two tours of Vietnam, a crap ton of shrapnel damage to his knee resulting in an honorable discharge. He returned home moving from dead end job to dead end job eventually waking up after a routine surgery to the plague, thus starting his zombie killing career that we know him so well for. After being left for dead, Bill woke up to find a new enemy, with less intent on flesh consumption, but just about the same murderous intentions. Check out the back story here.
Dead by Daylight is an early access game, only available on PC through steam at the moment. Due to its overwhelming popularity with the streaming and youtube community, Dead by Daylight has been confirmed for a release to Xbox One and PS4 in the future. Until then, The Left Behind update is available on PC for free.
