DC Universe Online, the DC-Comics themed MMO that wasn’t even a big deal when it first came out, had all of one unique thing going for it--it was released for both the PC and the PS3. Console MMOs have about as friendly a history as cats and rats, but since it was being developed by Sony Online Entertainment, well, why not? Sony had a console, they wanted more stuff on the console, so they made it happen. But now, five years later, Sony Online Entertainment has since broken away to Daybreak Game Studio, those guys who are jerks to other jerks, and since DC Universe Online has gotten no more popular, and Daybreak Game Studios is free, why not export the critically acknowledged DC Universe Online to Xbox One?
There’s no reason not too. So that’s what they did.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of DC Universe Online, Daybreak Game Studios is not only bringing Xbox One gamers into the fun, they’re also going to allow cross-play between PC, Ps3, and Ps4 gamers. But if you don’t much care for that kinda business, you’ll still be happy to hear they’re gonna be adding some new gameplay content as well, including water powers, some stuff based on Legends of Tomorrow, and more Storylines. Neat.
Oh they also published this.
And that’s, say it with me now: neat.
That’s neat.
